OCD and Related Disorders

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a mental health condition marked by intrusive thoughts, images, or urges (obsessions) that lead to repetitive behaviors or mental acts (compulsions). These compulsions are performed to reduce anxiety or prevent a feared event. While OCD is the most widely recognized of these disorders, there are several related conditions that share similar features, including hoarding disorder, body dysmorphic disorder, trichotillomania (hair-pulling), and excoriation disorder (skin-picking).
